At the Riverbank

At the riverbank
At the riverbank,
my inner eye grabs
an image for that to come,
a talisman of sorts.

Marks within my mind,
for later days
and other ways,
a talisman of sorts.

At the riverbank,
a brief glimpse of
that which seals,
a talisman of sorts.

Seals this beauty
for reasons
not yet known,
a talisman of sorts.

Beautiful scene and the poem sings of beauty - love the way you've used repetition.

i love
how you share
that so many perceptions
can be a talisman
of sorts!

A mental picture is a tailisam of sorts. How often do we travel there when we are stressed. It has a magic all its own and you have certainly captured it here!

This photo is lovely and I really liked the almost hypnotic element in your verse. Talismans are part hypnosis, for sure!

Oh, and I'm glad you liked my post on my grandmother's skin (literal and metaphorical) as talisman. I hope your Bible study using her near death experience is a powerful one!!

I really like the repetition you placed within the poem. It felt like meditation and I could picture tear-dropped stones hanging from a chain.
