Descent 7%

Descent, the yellow sign shouts.
The gray concrete ribbon
quickly drops into the
dark Green River gorge
midst a stench of burnt brakes.

The stench of burning brakes! It reminds me of driving down from the summit of Mt Washington here in NH. I remember that smell. You wrote a great poem!

You remind me of a day in Woodstock, NY, when I was climbing down a mountain but was followed by the stench of burning brakes. My sneakers fared better than any car!

Great poem.

oh! I do like this very much. It calls to mind to many trips in the mountains, and how often I smell the brakes of the trucks around me.

A sizable percentage of hill - scary - nice work - I can feel the fear and smell the brakes.

What a fabulous take on the prompt! Very original and very olfactory.
