Window Views #8 - Monochrome #11

Over at "Window Views and Doors Too," you can always find some really great photographs of unusual windows and doors. I'm afraid there's nothing unusual about this door. Just a plain storefront door that does what it's supposed to do - provide information about hours of operation, let us know how to contact folks, and most importantly give us access to some mighty fine Carolina cooking! Step through the door of the Backyard BBQ Pit #1 in Durham, North Carolina for some chicken, pulled pork, fried fish, lots of good vegetables (including the number one vegetable in the South - Mac n Cheese) and a cold sip of sweet tea.

I thought that the whole scene would look good in black and white. What do you think?

Go to Window Views and Doors Too to see photographs of other doors and windows by bloggers from around the world.

Makes me hungry! Nice photo for local color.

Sometimes those plain, no-fuss, storefronts can have the best produce.
It is an interesting shot of local lore. I like the blind in the window with the fish names.

But...it is serving an important purpose, therefore worthy of being photographed! Nice post!

I like seeing the local landscape rendered differently for a change. Forces us to concentrate on what you are trying to say with your photograph rather than just on the scene. Changing to monochrome here emphasise the printing on the window. A nice story in an image, Mo.

Perfect for B&W. Love the sign in the window.

I love this, it brings back memories of growing up in the South. I wonder if they have any Black eyed peas and fried okra on the menu today?

As a fish lover it's nice to see a decent fishmonger, as we call them in the Uk.

Didn't know about that #1 veggie in the South - mac and cheese. Made me laugh.

Moe, I really like the door and the big sign to the right! I've never heard of croaker fish, though! Your Window View shot is delightful! Happy Holidays! :)
